Boys are encouraged to use technology as a tool to learn in all aspects of the curriculum. Students attend E learning lessons from Years 3-8 in which they are equipped with the skills to use a computer effectively to learn. We have a bank of laptops which are available for students to access as required and operate wirelessly throughout the school. Every classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and laptop with the facility to print to any number of networked printers. Other facilities include scanners, digital cameras and video cameras and musical keyboards.
Lessons broadly follow the national curriculum objectives however much more emphasis is placed upon learning in a curriculum context rather than learning discrete ICT skills for the sake of it. This enables students to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information. Lessons also focus on developing the skills necessary for children to be able to use information in a discriminating and effective way. ICT skills are a major factor in enabling children to be confident, creative and independent learners.
