ScienceJames Lancashire attended the University of Wales Bangor and later St Mary's University, London. He has been a qualified teacher for over 10 years and has held the position of Head of Science across several Independent schools. He has also worked in the Financial and Energy sectors. He joined Wetherby Prep in September 2008.

"The Science Curriculum at Wetherby aims to cultivate an interest in Science to enable students to make informed judgements regarding current and future scientific issues. There is an emphasis on practical work to underpin the basic concepts and enable students to explore new ideas. Students are always encouraged to work to the best of their individual ability in both practical and written work.

Years 4 and 5 have two one hour lessons, in a specifically-designed Junior Laboratory. One thirty-minute homework task is set per week for Year 5 and two thirty-minute tasks for Year 6. Once again, the KS2 curriculum is followed but some subjects are studied at the depth required for KS3 and common entrance examinations."
