STUDY SUPPORT

Here at Wetherby Prep, we recognise that study skills are very important life skills applying to all aspects of academic education. We recognise the need to teach study skills to help pupils revise effectively, retain information and retrieve it effectively when required to do so.

We help children find out whether they are predominantly visual, auditory or kinaesthetic learners and to study and to revise in the way which best suits them as individuals.  Pupils are taught how to use brain warm ups, key words and to take notes. We also teach revision techniques and memory strategies and give pupils structured advice about exams.  Wherever possible, teachers will use multisensory teaching methods and are mindful of different learning styles when planning and delivering lessons.
