Wetherby Prep to open a new Reception in 2026

Following a vibrant academic year of 13+ successes, scholarship awards, sporting triumphs and memorable performances, we are delighted to share the next chapter in the Wetherby journey. From September 2026, we will open a brand-new Pre Prep at Wetherby Prep in Marylebone starting with a Reception class. This addition sits alongside our renowned pre-preparatory schools at Wetherby School Notting Hill and Wetherby School Kensington, extending the early years provision families already know and trust.

We understand the importance of the early years. These formative experiences shape confidence, character and curiosity, and a settled start is crucial. By offering Reception on our Marylebone site, boys can begin their school life in a familiar and aspirational environment, with the reassurance of a consistent Wetherby experience. For many families, staying within one community from Reception through Pre Prep, and then continuing seamlessly to our distinguished Prep School, provides the continuity that enables boys to thrive.

Our new Reception facilities have been thoughtfully designed in the Inspired Education style: fresh, modern and warmly welcoming for boys aged 4+. Purpose-built classrooms will sit alongside engaging play areas and dedicated outdoor spaces, all crafted to encourage exploration, collaboration and independence. Every detail supports curiosity, creativity and confidence, laying the strongest possible foundations for lifelong learning.

Across our three Pre Prep locations, the curriculum will be identical, ensuring the same high standard of delivery on every site. Homework and assessment will be aligned; sport and music provision will mirror one another; and the schools will come together for joint events and competitions. Staff will meet regularly to maintain continuity and consistency in all areas of school life. At the heart of our philosophy lies the commitment to understand and nurture each boy's unique talents, strengths, and passions. Our aim is to ensure that each boy is fully prepared for the 7+ and 8+ examinations, securing a place at one of London's most prestigious prep schools including of course Wetherby Prep. In doing so, we equip our boys with the skills, confidence, and academic foundation that will open doors to top universities and fulfilling careers.
