Pastoral Care

Nurturing a child's social and emotional development is as crucial as their academic progress. Our dedicated staff create a warm, inclusive environment where every boy feels valued and supported. Through open communication among staff, pupils, and parents, and offering exceptional support services, we ensure that each child's unique needs are met.

Each boy has a dedicated Form teacher who is their first port of call for pastoral matters and play a key role in their development, building strong relationships and understanding each pupil. Form Time runs from 8:20am to 9:00am, providing the perfect start to the school day.

Heads of Year ensure consistency in pastoral care, leading weekly assemblies to celebrate achievements and promote wellbeing. Annual residential trips, organised by the Heads of Year, provide valuable experiences outside the classroom, fostering lifelong friendships and memories.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing

Consistent training and dedication are central to our whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. Beyond their Form teacher and Heads of Year, students are supported by our Head of Wellbeing, who works closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure every pupil is noticed and cared for. Based in The Hub, a purpose-built space for wellbeing, students can talk, create, and feel heard. Whether a concern is school- or home-related, there's always someone to listen. A play therapist and school counsellor visit weekly, collaborating with our Head of Wellbeing to extend support across all areas of school life.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is at the core of all we do. We are committed to providing the best possible care for our boys by fostering a culture of openness and honesty. Pupils are also encouraged to speak to trusted adults via different avenues, including the Wetherby Red Boxes throughout the school, one-to-one Surface Go devices and our brilliant staff, who are continuously trained to meet the demands of an ever-changing world.
