Year 4 complete the cricket season unbeaten with a victory against Falcons! What a fantastic achievement boys.
Breaktime 2010/2011
Friday 25 June 2010
It has been very warm this week, but we have managed to keep fairly cool in the building with a large number of fans and a through-draught from the front door and large open windows in the Pioneer Hall. The temperature was particularly high on Wednesday though, with excitement at fever pitch and a multitude of fans of another sort positively whirring with excitement, as we watched the England victory against Slovenia. There was a great atmosphere in the library, some good natured chanting and there were even a dozen or so passers-by watching the match on our big screen through the window!
It is particularly pertinent, the weather being as it is at the moment, for us to continue looking at ways to maximise outdoor physical activity for the boys. As you can see from today’s picture below, they love going to Hyde Park and it is the intention for September to extend the ‘lunch hour’ by half an hour and make this a regular occurrence on the days the boys do not do Games. We have already booked Seymour Leisure Centre for next term as I think it is an excellent exercise option for when the weather is wet or too cold. Both as Headmaster and as father of two very energetic boys, I fully appreciate the need for significant, outdoor, physical activity at every opportunity.
