admissions

becoming a wetherby boy

Boys may be registered at any time up to the end of the Autumn Term of the preceding year before entry.

Please register using the links below:

Internal (from Wetherby School or Wetherby Kensington)

External (from all other schools)

If parents are interested in visiting the school please complete an Admissions Enquiry Form where you will be able to book a school tour at a convenient date and time.

Additionally, and alternatively, we have recently filmed and posted a ‘virtual tour’ on our YouTube site.  Please visit this and also our end of year Prize Giving ‘Wetherflix’, to get the best possible impression of our school without visiting the premises.

In September, registered boys will be invited to attend the January 7+ and 8+ Assessment Week (normally second week of January). Here, they will sit short tests in English and Maths and take part in group based activities. Offers for entry into Year 3 and 4 will be made a few weeks later with the deadline for acceptances by spring half term. For boys entering into Years 5 to 8, there will be a Taster Day on January 22nd, which will include a morning of lessons with various teachers as well as an assessment in Maths and English. If you would like to attend the Taster Day, please click HERE.

The school has a small intake of 12-16 boys (one class) at Year 3 and a further intake of 70 (four classes) at Year 4.  Wetherby School and Wetherby Kensington boys automatically feed into the school at Year 4.

Wetherby is a family school and siblings always have priority on entry.

If you are interested in joining Wetherby Preparatory School outside of the normal 7 and 8+ entry please contact me at lorna.charles@wetherbyprep.co.uk.
