Thanks to the enormous generosity of boys and parents we raise an incredible amount for charity each year. Yet we are very keen to promote the ethos that ‘every penny counts’ and encourage boys to give what they can.
We are fully committed to supporting local charities and in recent years have been delighted to support: The Royal Parks Foundation, Trekstock and St Mary’s Hospital ‘More Smiles Appeal’.
Alongside our ‘home’ charities we are also very proud to support Rwanda Aid and our link school, ‘Mwegera’. In recent years we have provided funds to build new classrooms and helped with the teacher mentor scheme being piloted by Rwanda Aid. The boys also enjoy exchanging letters with the Rwandan children.
Charity events at Wetherby are extremely varied, creative and usually a lot of fun! Recent events have included: a planting day in Hyde Park to plant 10,000 snowdrops, ‘The Great Baker Bake-Off’, ‘Come Dine With Me’ and perhaps the most popular of all with the boys, the annual Summer Fete.
