Thanks to the enormous generosity of boys and parents we raise an incredible amount for charity each year. Yet we are very keen to promote the ethos that ‘every penny counts’ and encourage boys to give what they can.
We are fully committed to supporting local charities and in recent years have been delighted to support: The Royal Parks Foundation, Trekstock and St Mary’s Hospital ‘More Smiles Appeal’, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children Charity and Canine Partners.
Alongside our ‘home’ charities we are also very proud to support Rwanda Aid and our link school, ‘Mwegera’. Over the years we have provided funds to build new classrooms and we have helped with the teacher mentor scheme being piloted by Rwanda Aid. More recently our funds have been used to support the local Alivera Project which supports local children with disabilities and encourages them to become more involved in the local communities.
Charity events at Wetherby are extremely varied, creative and usually a lot of fun! Recent events have included ‘The Great Baker Bake-Off’, ‘Come Dine With Me’, frequent bake sales, Mufti Days, silent auctions at the School bi-annual ball and perhaps the most popular of all with the boys, the annual Summer Fete.
